Celebrate Five Years at the Library!
The community is buzzing about the amazing new school, and I remember the similar buzz about the new library five years ago. It’s hard to believe so many years have already passed. My younger daughter was just a baby when the new library opened, and she just started kindergarten, so it adds up mathematically even if it doesn’t compute emotionally!
When attending the grand opening for the new Junior/Senior High, I heard wonderful stories of dedicated people giving of their time and money to see the school be the best it could be. It seems to be a trend in our community, as we witnessed a very similar outpouring with the new library. We still feel very supported by the community, and that has motivated and inspired us to improve and stay relevant.
You are invited to attend the library’s Five-Year Anniversary Celebration! It will be Sunday, Sept. 8 from 1:00-4:00 pm. The event will offer entertainment...magicians, a juggler, a caricature artist, a balloon artist, and a look back at the last six years.
The celebration will also feature many of the library’s newer services. Find out about these, ask questions, and attend short information sessions about services like Apollo (new catalog), Zinio (digital magazines), NEIBORS (downloadable eBooks and audiobooks), Learning Express (improve skills and test preparation), and others in the Community Room.
Limited parking will be available at the library, including the parking by Ridihalgh, Fuelling, Snitker & Weber Accounting. There will also be shuttles offered by ABCM (formerly known as East Towne and West Village) for handicapped individuals from the parking area at Cedar Valley Hospice. The other shuttle locations are Medical Associates and the Wellness Center (off 3rd St in back). Everyone is welcome to take advantage of the shuttle service. The ABCM Transportation will run from 1:00-2:00 pm continuously, at 2:00, 2:30, and 3:00 pm, and continuously from 3:00-4:00 pm. A big thanks to ABCM for all their assistance!
